Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
Our grade 5 students headed off to Camp Coolamatong this morning for the week. There was lots of excitement and chatter as they got on the buses. I am sure they will have lots of stories to share when they return. A special thank you to the staff; Sue Shaw, Leanne Kamphuis, Nicky Fenech, Nicole Leeder, Kellie Arend, Daniel Reed, Lachlan Ware, Leanne McDonald, Amanda Ross and Lia DiCorleto who have headed off with them, leaving their families behind for the week. We are expecting them back Friday afternoon at approximately 2:45pm. We will update you with arrival times on Friday afternoon via the school app.
2022 Foundation enrolments
Foundation enrolments for 2022 are now open, prospective parents are invited to contact the school to arrange a tour. Enrolment forms and information about the school are available via the school website. A parent information session will be held early next term.
Email contact with teachers
At St Michaels we promote and encourage an open and respectful line of communication. The teachers at St Michael's welcome and value the communication between parents and teachers, however, we ask that parents are mindful of the timing of an email being sent to teachers, inclusive of weekends. We ask that any email communication between parents and staff is sent at an appropriate and respectful time. Most often it is not possible for teachers to respond to parent emails during the school day as they are in class, have yard duties or have meetings. Therefore, we ask that parents allow a period of 24 hours until a response is received. We all, parents and teachers alike, have families and outside of school, our day to day lives continue. Thank you for your understanding.

COMMEMORATION OF THE 1960 SCHOOL BUS ACCIDENT
In 2020 Gippsland Memorial Park were to have a blessing of the refurbished communal grave of the 5 children from our schools at Traralgon Cemetery. Because of Covid this needed to be cancelled. Traralgon Cemetery Trust are hoping families and community members will be able to join them on Sunday 21 March 2021 at 2pm at Gippsland Memorial Park at the refurbished grave which will be blessed by Fr Francis followed by a gathering in the Oak Room for afternoon tea. ALL WELCOME. Please contact the Cemetery office on 5174 9071 for catering purposes.
God of infinite love,
I thank you for this reminder of your love
and your call that we be more patient,
gentle and compassionate with others.
Here in the middle of Lent,
I turn to you to beg for your help.
Please soften my heart.
Help me to let go of judging others.
I ask you this, in Jesus' name.
Amen
Kind regards
Jodie
In today’s Gospel, the temple had been turned into a marketplace. After driving out all of the animals and scattering the money, the Jews asked Jesus to justify his actions. Jesus simply replied “Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up.” They were baffled about how Jesus was going to do this when it took forty-six years to build the temple. Jesus was not referring to the building he was, of course, speaking of the sanctuary of his body - proficising what was to come through his death and resurrection. We all need rules to help us live orderly lives. But adherence to a list of rules is not enough. Only by allowing Jesus to be the centre of our lives will we live the way that God wants us to live. Take note of the times that your children go beyond what is expected of them and really act in a loving, caring way.
