News from the Principal
Dear Parents, Guardian and Carers,
Yesterday our Year 4 children went off to school camp at Coonawarra Farm Resort. It’s been great to hear about how much fun they are having and the wonderful experiences they have shared. A big thank you to our teachers who also attended and dedicated their time to ensuring our students had the best camp experience possible.
Requests for 2025 are due 20th September
Please refer to the past fortnight newsletters with respect to class requests for 2025. These requests must be sent to principal@stmtraralgon.catholic.edu.au no later than Friday 20th September. Any request received after this date will not be considered.
Footy Colours Day - Thursday 19th September
On Thursday 19th September we encourage all staff and students to wear footy colours to school to celebrate the end of term.
We will also be having a Hot Dog day for Footy Day which will be organised by our Parents and Friends Committee. Information will be sent later this week.
At 2pm, we invite parents and carers into the school yard to join us for the parade and longest kick competition. Families please be advised that it is school policy that students do not use face paint or coloured hairspray on dress up days.
Open Classroom Afternoon - Thursday October 17th
At St Michael’s we have four days set aside in Term 4 whereby students will spend time in other classroom areas to help ease some of the concerns they may have about next year. In addition to this, some children have already begun the process of walking through classroom blocks, taking in similarities and differences and having the opportunity to ask questions about what next year might look like for them.
Another way in which we would like to support these transitions is to have an Open Classroom afternoon which will take place on Thursday 17th October from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. This is an opportunity for you as parents and carers to come along and check out their learning spaces for next year and ask any questions of teachers that you or your child may be thinking about 2025. There won’t be any set activities, but this is rather a casual time for you and your child to explore and view other classrooms areas; something that we know is particularly important for those heading into grade 1, grade 3 and grade 5 as these students are in completely different buildings.
Important Dates
- 12th September - Pie order collection from 3:15pm
- 19th September - Footy Colours Day/ Hot dog Day
- 20th September - Term 3 ends at 1pm
Kind regards,
Lia DiCorleto
Acting Principal
