Eisteddfod ticket booking link
We have been provided the following link from Latrobe City for those parents who would like to attend the performances on the 4th September. As this is a Latrobe City organised event, if you have any problems with the ticketing system you must contact them directly, not the school.
Information about tickets is on the Latrobe City website here: https://www.lve.org.au/tickets.php/ which provides links to the venue's booking site. When you enter the website select “Choral and Vocal Tickets” , then select “Choral GPAC - Main Theatre” on the right hand side. Performers do not need to purchase a ticket.

Student Led Conferences
Student Led Conference will occur in Week 9 this term on Monday 15th September and Wednesday 17th September. The conferences are an opportunity for you to sit with your child and their teacher to listen to your child sharing a piece of work that they have completed and are proud of. All students will begin preparing for their conference and we look forward to having the opportunity to showcase your child’s learning progress.
Families will soon receive a separate email with a booking link. Each student led conference will go for no longer than 10 minutes. Please respect the timeslot you have been allocated, as going over time or running late greatly impacts other parents and teachers. It is recommended that you do not book back to back timeslots for siblings as this can impact the timing.
GEM day
On Friday 5th September the students will be participating in activities based on Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness. These are the three key components of The Resilience Project and form many of the conversations that your child has on a daily basis in their classrooms. You can practice these components at home by thinking about:
Right to Disconnect and email contact with school staff
Effective from 26 August 2024, the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) introduced a high-level workplace right for employees to disconnect from communication received outside of their working hours, unless the refusal is unreasonable. This has been a subject of discussion at many workplaces.
At St Michael’s we promote and encourage an open and respectful line of communication. The teachers at St Michael's welcome and value the communication between parents and teachers, however, we ask that parents be mindful of the timing of an email being sent to school staff inclusive of weekends. We ask that any email communication between parents and staff is sent at an appropriate and respectful time. This is particularly important during the school holidays, when our teachers are spending time with their own families and children.
Most often it is not possible for teachers to respond to parent emails during the school day as they are in class, have yard duties or have meetings. To help, where possible, please keep your emails brief and concise. We all, parents and teachers alike, have families and outside of school, our day to day lives continue. Teachers specify their work hours on their email signature and we ask that you take note and respect the teacher’s right to disconnect out of hours.
