News from the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians,

Who’s up for Trivia?? Our Parents and Friends group have done a superb job in advertising and organising our school trivia night, happening this Friday 17th October at 6:30pm at the Traralgon Tennis Club. There are still seats and tables available. Come along and join the fun, you might even like to challenge the teachers! Check out the flyer located further in this newsletter.

Children arriving late to school

I have mentioned this a number of times throughout the year, but again I need to remind all families about the importance of children being at school on time. Your child’s day starts at 8:55am, so they should be at school no later than 8:50am to allow them time to complete any classroom responsibilities and to connect with their friends.

When the children are late, they enter the classroom with worries and most often appear flustered because they have missed key messages from their teacher about how their day will look. Often being late is not the fault of students, and may require you as parents to leave home five to ten minutes earlier than usual. We know that sometimes it cannot be avoided, but we ask that all families please make an extra effort to get your children to school on time.

Casual Clothes Day - Celebrating Catholic Mission

We invite all students to wear casual clothes tomorrow, Wednesday 15th October in support of Catholic Missions. We would love a gold coin donation that will go towards raising funds for communities in Zambia to help ensure they have access to clean water and food.

Enrolments at St Michael’s

We are now at capacity in Year 2, Year 5 and Year 6 for 2025. We are also at capacity for Foundation enrolments for 2026. Any enrolment enquiries are welcome to be added to our waiting list. All other year levels are filling up quickly. Due to limited spots, careful consideration must be given and we do this by adhering to the DOSCEL enrolment policy which can be located on the school website.
