Education in Faith
This Gospel assures us that we belong to the family of God. St Paul reminds us that the Holy Spirit has brought us into this family, not as servants or slaves, but as brothers and sisters of Jesus who also calls God ‘Father’. Before returning to heaven, Jesus sent the disciples out to bring everyone into God’s family by baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. God shares himself with us through the three persons of the Trinity. Think of it like an apple …. an apple is made up of three parts: the peel, the flesh and the core. The peel protects - just like the love of God Father. The flesh is full of goodness - just like Jesus the Son. The core of the apple contains the seed from which things grow - just like the friendship of the Holy Spirit. There are three parts to the apple but it is still just one apple.
St. Michael’s Primary School has a long tradition of supporting our local St. Vincent de Paul Society. Each year we support two collections for St Vinnies: June, for the Mass of the Sacred Heart and December, for the Christmas Appeal.
Due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to attend the Church for the Giving Mass as a whole school community. However we feel that it is important, now more than ever, to support the local community through our donations.
Each child is asked to bring an item of non-perishable food to school by Friday 11th June.
Any support you can offer at this time would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions please speak with your classroom teacher.
Thank you for supporting this worthwhile cause.
