Mk 14:12 - 26, 22 - 26
Last weekend we celebrated the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. In the scripture we read about the Passover when Jesus gathered with His disciples. This meal, the Last Supper, has been remembered and celebrated throughout the ages each time we share the Eucharist. Jesus broke the bread and shared it with the disciples saying “Take it, this is my body.” Jesus then shared the cup with them saying “This is my blood, the blood of the covenant, which is to be poured out for many.” The covenant, the promise Jesus made many years ago, is still alive today, calling us to think of God's love each time we share in the Eucharist. What would happen if we didn’t have any food or drink? Together they give us nourishment, keeping us alive. Jesus is the bread of life - from Him we receive nourishment as we remember God’s love and the promises that he made.
Giving Appeal
St. Michael’s Primary School has a long tradition of supporting our local St. Vincent de Paul Society. Each year we support two collections for St Vinnies: June, for the Mass of the Sacred Heart and December, for the Christmas Appeal.
Due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to attend the Church for the Giving Mass as a whole school community. However we feel that it is important, now more than ever, to support the local community through our donations.
Each child is asked to bring an item of non-perishable food to school by Friday 11th June.
Any support you can offer at this time would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions please speak with your classroom teacher.
Thank you for supporting this worthwhile cause.

Grade 1/2 Fundraiser
The 1/2 children are responsible for this term's mission fundraising effort and they have organised a Mystery Jar Raffle. The proceeds will go to Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation. The children in the 1/2 area have all brought along a jar with something fun in it, eg pens, lollies, hair ties, marshmallows, toys etc. Children can buy raffle tickets in their area for the next three weeks and each Friday we will raffle off one third of the jars we have collected. It would be great if you could support this fundraising effort.
Tickets are 50 cents each.
Thank you the children and teachers in 1/2 team.
