We are called by God to be apostles, to go out and share the Good News of God’s love for the world. In today’s Gospel we hear about some of the challenges that go along with “this job”. When we prepare to go on a long journey we pack all of the things that we might need: clothes, shoes, food, toothbrush, maybe a coat in case it rains….. Jesus told his apostles to take only the clothes on their backs, nothing extra. The most important thing that they carried was the message that they were sent out to share. The apostles didn’t know how their message would be received or whether they would succeed on the journey. All that they could do was to place their trust in God and hope that He would guide them on their journey. Are you ready for the challenge to be an apostle for the Lord?
