Jn 6:60 - 69

We are all invited to follow God, but we have the choice as to whether we will accept this invitation or not. Living a Christian life is not always an easy path, but we trust that through our belief in God we will have an everlasting life. Sometimes, when we have something extraordinary to tell, people find it hard to believe it to be true. This is what happened in this week's gospel. Jesus told the crowd that he was the bread of life, and that whoever ate his body and drank his blood would be filled with eternal life. It is really not difficult to see why many of the crowd turned away in disbelief. While the disciples didn’t always understand Jesus’ message, they stayed strong in their belief and remained followers of Jesus. We too need to remain strong in our belief in Jesus and live our lives as witnesses to the gospel message. Talk with your children about how we can profess our faith in the fast paced world that we live in …… what can we do to make a difference in the lives of others?
