Education in Faith
Lk 3: 1 - 6
On Sunday we celebrated the second Sunday of Advent and we read about John the Baptist telling us to turn back to God. God sent John to prepare the way for the saviour, he was the proclaimer of the coming of Jesus! John was filled with the Holy Spirit and had the courage to stand before the crowds. He was the “voice in the wilderness” as he baptised the people who wanted to start fresh and try to lead better lives. Advent, like Lent, is an opportunity for us to take stock of where we stand in our relationship with God and to think about what God wants of us. Advent is a time for all of us to prepare and change. It is a time to be more aware that we can encounter God in many unexpected ways. As we gather around the Advent candles let's reflect on how we can prepare for the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ.
2021 Christmas Appeal
Dear Families,
St. Michael’s Primary School has generously supported St. Vincent de Paul Society for many years through our food and gift collections.
Leading up to the festive season St Vincent de Paul make Christmas Hampers for families in our local community who are in need of support, particularly at this time of year. Leading up to the end of the year and Christmas we ask our school families to donate some festive items to assist Vinnies make their Christmas hampers.
These donations might include: Christmas food, serviettes, wrapping paper, bon bons etc. Consider donating the items that bring joy into your household during this special time of the year.
We ask that the children bring a donation to school by Friday 10th December so that we, once again, support this important cause.
Thank you for your continuous spirit of giving.
