Education in Faith
The readings this week are about the way in which we live our lives. Just as we can recognise an apple tree by the fruit which grows on it, so too, can people recognise us as Christians by the way we act and the things that we say. A good tree does not produce decayed fruit any more than a decayed tree produces good fruit. The person who is good will do good deeds, the evil person will do evil things. One cannot be evil in his heart and live a life of goodness. If we are healthy and strong and full of God’s goodness, then goodness will show in our lives. If our hearts are selfish and unkind then we will be selfish and unkind. This has a lot to do with how our children grow and develop - we want them to be healthy, strong and full of goodness. How do our lives influence our children? What can we, as parents, do to better our children?
