Hooptime District Basketball Competition
On Friday 5th August, one team each of Grade 6 boys and girls competed in the Hooptime (Traralgon District) Basketball Competition. Our teams played well, with both teams advancing to the Grand Final to compete against St Gabriel's. Our girls team put up a fight and came runners up while the boys won their final and will progress to the Latrobe Valley Division Basketball (Thursday 1st September) and the Hooptime All Stars Regional Final (Thursday 20th October).
Congratulations to both teams for an excellent day of great basketball and fabulous sportsmanship.
Hooptime Basketball - Call for Referees / Parent Helpers!
Basketball referee numbers are currently 40% down state wide since the COVID-19 pandemic started, this is being reflected in referees we can get to day time events. Our referee department is really struggling to get people on court, I’ve done my best to support the team by contacting Schools for parent helpers and contacting associations for assistance.
It has reached the point where cancelling Hoop Time Days has become a real possibility and the next step to the current situation.

Below is a link to a registration form for both parent helpers and qualified referees to help - qualified referees will be reimbursed $120 and parent helpers $100. Each helper will be supplied with a hand whistle and covered by Basketball Victoria insurance.
St Michael's Boys team are set to play on Thursday 20th October so any parent / referee helpers are encouraged to sign up for that date and any others they would be happy to support.
We are at the stage where Hoop Time cannot continue in 2022 without the help of School communities.
